Based on the look on my face you’d say life seems pretty good right now!! And yes- life is always good because I am grateful for it. 🙏🏼 • But I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say that the last week has absolutely sucked the life out of me... like the kind of life sucking where you try so hard to keep it all together.. but it’s only a matter of time until someone recognizes where your head is at and you fall apart as soon as they ask the words.. “are you okay?” 💕 • I had that moment this weekend with a few of my girlfriends. I fell apart. Maybe a few too many shots of tequila apart. But I let it out.. Sunday was a complete rest day. And today.. my energy just hasn’t been there at all. BUT I’ve dug DEEP to get this smile on. I’ve mustered up the energy to mix and chug my pre workout. And I’m about to jump right in with the other 100 or so girls that are calling today DAY ONE!! ☝🏼 • New day. New plan. New energy. New commitment. Raise your hand if you spent a lot of time growing up thinking you were the most indecisive person on the planet 🙋🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ _ That was definitely me. I couldn’t distinguish the difference between what others expected of me & what I wanted. What I thought was indecisive-ness was really just the people pleaser in me fighting my own desires. _ Even as an adult I find myself fighting that urge to please others. This isn’t always a bad thing. I love helping people reach their full potential in life through health & fitness. The people pleaser in me loves seeing them happy, thriving, & accomplishing what they set out to do. Giving them the tools & support to make that happen fulfills my soul. _ When I learned to distinguish the difference between wanting to please others & being truly indecisive the quality of my life & my sense of self direction improved x10. How do you that? _ • Actively listen to what the person is saying • Ask questions! Ask them why they feel the way they do & why they have the opinion they have • Spend time alone. Like a lot of time. Get to know yourself. What makes you tick. What brings you joy. What makes you sad. Spending time alone getting to know YOU is the only way to tap into your true self & learn what you want. • Listen to that tug from your gut. You know the one. The one that tells you to run the other direction when someone tells you what they want from you. The one that pulls you towards something even though it might be scary AF? That’s the voice you want to listen to. • Actively practice listening to that gut voice & kindly saying no to those outside opinions. You don’t have to explain yourself. Just kindly disagree. _ You can still please others while simultaneously pleasing yourself. Because what it really comes down to....when you’re happy that energy radiates from you onto others. You’re better able to share your gifts, your talents, your passion, your hard work. You’re better able to SERVE others when you serve yourself first. _ I’m better able to serve my clients when I serve myself. When I follow my gut & work on projects I believe in. And you will be too. Rise and grind, everybody! I’m so pumped to take on this week and be the best damn SHE-E-O I can be! Sailing through spreadsheets and enrolling new clients into Career By Design. Fueled by coffee - just finished a workout, took the dog for a walk AND finished reading You Are a Badass), so I’m pretty convinced I’m unstoppable!

New week, same max, 2 more total reps with 205 (8, 8, 7). • If I'm being honest, 7 on the 3rd set kinda irritates me, but 2 more reps is a win. When I hit it for 3x8 next week it'll be time to push my daily max up a bit and do it all over again. Nothing fancy, no magic routine; just consistent work.

TRACKING MACROS by @destinationnutrition - This morning I covered how to determine your macros, this afternoon I shared a bad ass recipe, so naturally how to track macros is the next step! • • Tracking macros is a pretty important step as you can imagine. I mean what’s the point in figuring them out if you aren’t going to track them?! Accurate tracking can seem like a tedious task at first, but do it long enough and eventually you won’t think twice about it. • • How do you track accurately? The first step is to download an app to input all your food into. @myfitnesspal and @loseitapp are two of the most popular options. I personally use MyFitnessPal to track my macros. • • Next, get a food scale so you can measure everything accurately. One of the most important things you can do is to be consistent with your tracking. If you weigh your meats raw, make sure to track them as so. The same can be said for cooked foods. There’s a big difference between 56g of dry pasta and 56g of cooked pasta. Most food labels list the macros of the food in its uncooked state. • • Once you’ve got those things down, it’s just piecing your day together to make your numbers work for you! Again, it can seem daunting at first, but do it enough times and it’ll feel weird when you *don’t* do it! • • If you’ve got any questions or comments on tracking, macros, or want any help just let me know! My training buddy 🙌🏼❤️ If you’re struggling to keep your gym appointments with yourself, sometimes it can help to have a training buddy. It’s a lot harder to bail on your training session when you’ve promised someone you will be there, and some people do really well with having some accountability. Plus you will have someone to spot you 💪🏼 . Even if you can’t meet with your training buddy for every session, maybe only once a week, you’ll be able to check in with eachother during your session together. If you can’t get hold of a training buddy and think that some accountability might help, having a coach can help too.
